Power Loss in M3 SMG 3.2 Litre (321bhp)

Hi all,

Am new to this forum, Have recently purchased a new M3 SMG 3.2l (321 bhp)
Performance in the lower RPM range is extremely disappointing.. is this
normal? performance seems to pick up after about 4500rpm with peak hp at
7400rpm. Previous vehicle was a HSV with the Chev LS1 250kw motor. This
produced most of its power low in the rev range relying heavily on torque
for the acceleration.  Are the M3 motors normally "peaky" or should the
power/acceleration be constant form low in the rev range.  Any thoughts
would be appreciated.
