    Wiggle the front TS connector, behind the bumper.  (This has happened to 
both my E28s and my E30-- the connectors get dirty and corroded.)  If that 
fixes the problem, clean the sockets and apply a little dielectric grease to 
the connector and rubber boot to minimize moisture and further corrosion.
