E36 - HVAC Control Upgrade?

Hi All,

I was wondering if it was possible to retrofit the HVAC control unit from a 
1996+  E36 into my 1994 318i?  (i.e. replace those analog controls with the 
digital ones).  Is there a standard wiring harness used? (so hopefully its 
a plug and play deal).
