RE:1997 740i (e38) vs a used S320 Mercedes -

Well buddy I dont know what to tell you..if you do want to drive a tank go 
for the S320 but believe me since I have the older S320 which was called the 
300SE.. yes it  does have the "mine is bigger than yours" feel to it but 
thats exactly what the culprit is.. the damn thing is way TOO heavy for the 
3.2L.. yes the engine is very powerful, but with a car that weighs like a 
tank its going to lag alot.. highway cruising is fine but once you get into 
the suburbs..  or even dare to go into the city .. i dont know how to say 
this but your screwed.. If I were in your position I would go for a 96-97 
750il or even a new 740 sport or why not even a S500 or S600.. with either 
BMW, no you dont get the tank like feel but who says thats good??  well thats 
just my opinion
