E34 noisy clutch thrust bearing

The release bearing is running dry on the clutch of my 520 touring.
Can I get anything in through the actuating arm slot to shut it up?
Its probable not too bad but the rest of the car is sooooo quiet (and I am
neurotic!).
Do I just wait till it drops to bits or get so bad she notices it too.
It does seem worse first thing in the morning.
