I'm not familiar with this on E30s, but do you have the on-board computer
option?  If you have it on yours, sounds like you accidentally set the
"memo" feature which sounds 15 seconds before each full hour, supposedly to
remind you to listen to hourly new broadcasts.  Look for an alarm symbol in
the display above the AM/PM indicator and turn it off with the "MEMO ()))"
button.
