'87 325 Door locks

I've had this car for a year, and you would have thought I just acquired it
yesterday.
Last night, I exited the car and left the key in the ignition. I went to
the trunk to retrieve something, and then I heard a click. The doors locked
and so did the trunk.
What happened??
