My car is being re-sprayed soon;
my weired (and perhaps stupid) question:
While I have the shell stripped I have a chance 2 make a permanent strut
brace; A 2.5mm thick 40mm bent pipe (with torsional reinforcments)
welded between strut towers tops >>> designeed 2 clear intake mainfold
and bonnet of course; clutch reservoir will b relocated (RHD model)...
With 3rd part strut braces have 3 contact pts (shockers mounts), would
this actually work? and possibly b stronger that "normal" bars? I'm not
2 good @ maths 2 calculate the actual stresses and strains but logically
this should work;
also, I've read somewhere the springs on 325iS were actually lower
spring rate than OEM while being shorter? what would b an optimum spring
rate for a 950kg E30? I'm building a mild street car.
E30 323i Euro Coupe 8/83 M20/B23 L-Jet
Getrag 260 & 3.25 Diff Various Liposuctions >>> 950kG
Opal Grun >>>> Daytona Violett soon :))
