Where the GPS antenna is

Hi Abunde,

you are absolutely right - the BMW system works like all GPSs.
The antenna is hidden near the casing of your third brake light and gets =
the
signal through the rear window. The 5 Touring, consequently (since you ha=
ve
to _see_ the satellite, you have to have unblocked view to the sky - an
antenna alone is not enough, the signal is very weak and can=B4t be recei=
ved
like radio waves) has the antenna hidden in the middle of the front
dashboard. That=B4s why you don=B4t get the combination of climate comfor=
t front
window _and_ GPS in the Touring, because the coating of the front windows
blocks the GPS signals (and the signals of radar detectors, as well ...)
