Re: <E30-M42> Idle not stable



It is a good idea to clean the ICV anyway. It is located beside the throttle
butterfly, it is kinda cylindrical - half black, half silver. It has a pipe
coming out one side into the cast alloy manifold, and the other goes into
the rubber air intake pipe. It has an electrical plug on it's end. If you
disconnect it from the car, and pour some kind of degreaser through it, it
should come out kinda dirty. I use plain old WD-40 or CRC. It takes off all
the crud, and leaves a tiny amount of lube there. I don't think you are
supposed to oil it though.
