Re: Irish BMW's

Brendon,

It's to do with insurance in Ireland that discriminates against large
engines vehicles. It means that any small underpowered shopping trolley
costs a fortune to insure and anything more powerful becomes insane. For
example, a 25 year old driver of a 1L Ford worth $500 will expect to pay
over $1000 per year for insurance. If the same 25 year old phones up an
insurance company for a 325i the company puts him on the Tannoy so they can
all get a laugh! The Irish aspire to being rich and being able to afford
the insurance on a 316i by the time they are 30! I believe the insurance is
so expensive because every claim goes through the courts and hence costs a
fortune to resolve.

Best Regards
James MacKenzie
