buying an E30 M3, was buying E28 M5

 Thanks to all those folks who responded to my E28, M5 questions. With the 
feedback given to me in mind, I am now looking at the M3's instead of the M5. 
Below are the same questions I asked previously of the M5

I'll soon be in the market for an 88-90 M3 and have some questions:
- -what specific problems does this car have?
- - the 88's have mileage  usually in the 100k range. What must be 
replaced/repaired around this time?
- -are there any reading materials out there to help me?
