The 6 speed from the euro M3 might match up - it would prolly have better
gear ratios than the 540i.

I think the euro may have slightly taller aering, but you could change the
diff too. With 6 closer ratios, the taller diff prolly wouldn't affect
performance *too* much.

I don't really know, I'm just thinking out loud.
