New Gears

Hi:

I have a new (to me) 95 540i and want to start making a few small changes.
I love the 6 speed but never use 6th.  I think the diff is geared @294:1
and was thinking of lowering the ratio to say  350:1.

None of the factory remanufactured diffs seem to be a direct bolt on
(different sized CV joints) in the M5 units.  I contacted Korman and got a
price of $2100 to rebuild my diff (346:1 gear set) and add 75% limited
slip.  Is this reasonable both in ratio and the Korman price?  Any BTDTs?
