  I don't recommend the Ansa exhaust. On the advice of a friend, I tried one 
on my 88 325. 2 months later it broke at a weld. It was replaced for free 
although I had to pay shipping for the defective one. The replacement lasted 
about 14 months, just out of the warranty period. It was quiet while it 
lasted, though.
  The factory unit should last at least 5 years. I've still got the original 
on my 90 325i after 9 years. Cost about $225.
