<e30> Coolant warning??

I haven't been on the list in some time, but am glad to be back...

Q:  My '87 325iC is constantly giving me coolant warnings, even though
the coolant level is up to the mark.  I usually see this happen when I
shut the car off and come back to start it up after a short while.  Any
ideas why this might happen?
