Request information of any subassembly for any bimmer!

Hi,

I am doing some comparitive study and need very basic information about
any sub-assembly for any system of any bimmer. If you know of any good
internet links or have some good information, it would be greatly
appreciated. I am looking for information about design of parts,
materials used, manufacturing processes used, assembly, tolerance data
and quality issues.
