325es Starter replacement

I have to replace the starter on my daughter's 1986 325es with the
straight 6 engine.  However, I'm still waiting for the service manual to
arrive.  Is replacement straight-forward, or are there considerations
that need to be known.  Someone said that on some BMW, you have to
loosen the manifold to remove the starter.

Any advice would be appreciated.
