E28 Question

     I am a new subscriber to the digest and I own a 1984 533I or E28.  As
the new millennium quickly approaches I am increasingly curious about the
possibility of computer failure in the car.  I use to own a 1979 320I or E21
and it was my understanding that it was not subject to any computer failure
secondary to the Y2K issue.  Does the same apply to the E28?
