Okay here's the deal, I've been having this message appear on my 95
325i with a BMW cd changer (alpine model 014)with Alpine 5 head unit
that reads "disk error". It comes on in the middle of playing a cd.
So what I did was unplug the white two pin connector in the trunk and
try to scuff up the cable that's attached to the car with a screw
driver hoping to get better contact. (I'm at work and don't have
access to sand paper or something smaller) I had done this once
before and it worked until now but this time I think I screwed up. I
accidentally touched both pins with the screw driver and there was a
little tiny spark. Well it looks like I fried something, a fuse , a
relay I don't know but now the cd changer doesn't even work. I mean
no power or anything. I can't even see the cd changer on my display
on the radio when I press the band button. WHAT DID I DO??? Is
there a fuse or something I can check for?? The fuse behind the cd
changer is okay so I am assuming there is a fuse on the car somewhere
that went bad but I don't even know where the fuse box is. And if it
is a fuse on the car how come the radio still works? I didn't touch
the cable to the changer so it has to be something with the car. I
know I will proly get an earful from you all for what I did but
please be gentle. TIA!
