If your 735 wiring is like my 525i wiring, your problem
must be a failed switch. The only components ahead
of the motor are the switch, a resistor pack, the fuse box,
and wire. Unless the switch remains hot when the handle
is in the off position, there would be no source of
current to the motor.
You can confirm the problem easily enough once you
obtain access to the switch. But gaining access to =
the switch is probably non-trivial in your 735.
