Argument with BMW tech...



The '88 Eta used the head, pistons, and exhaust from the 'i.  Look at
the '88, and you'll see visible evidence of the latter -- two pipes all
the way from header to tips!

It also had an 8.5:1 compression ratio and Motronic 1.1.  Torque was
unchanged, but horsepower was up to 127.

I don't know offhand of any special markings on the head, etc...but it
should be fairly obvious if you're poking around in there...
