I think the general idea behind the folding mirrors is for when you park on the street next to the
kerb length ways. Folding mirrors could prevent a passing cyclist from blowing it away, or a
passing car (there are some terrible drivers out there). The folding mirrors could even prevent
pedestrians with a grudge against you (simply because you have a (new) BMW), kicking the mirror
off with jealousy. stranger things have happened!!!
