Hi all,
A few questions for you! My E36 325 (93) has an intermittent very small
hesitation on hard acceleration. I have been chasing it for ages but can't
quite seem to nail it down. Other than this the car runs and starts fine.
However, last week it started and had a very erratic idle and died as soon
as I touched the accelerator pedal. I restarted it and it did it again.
Third time all went OK and has been fine ever since! Could this be a
coincidence or maybe related problem? I dunno.........
I have changed the plugs (Bosch F7LDCR), oil, oil filter, air filter and
the O2 sensor. General service stuff really but still it is there. My
thoughts are:
(a) Would a clogged fuel filter do this? (the car has a documented
inspection 2 BMW service about 2000 miles ago, so I doubt it...)
(b) I read somewhere about Vanos solenoids sticking?! What can I do about
it if it is this? Presumably just fitting a replacement isn't going to cure
the problem is it?
(c) Crankshaft sensor going intermittent?
(d) would changing to F8LDCR plugs (as fitted to the 328 I believe?) help
or not?
Any thoughts on the above or other similar experiences or advice would be
really welcome as this problem is really spoiling an otherwise excellent
drive.
Thanks
Sean
