In 95 BMW's M group played with the suspension and aerodynamics of the ti.
They were to build approximately 200 in red and 200 in black for the U.S.
Market to see how they would be received. Some of the mods included a much
stiffer suspension, 16" rims, black leather seats red stitching and
millpoint red and black cloth inserts, M-tech front spoiler/ side skirts/
rear valance and the most notable item the M-tech mirrors. They also had
the 10 speaker sound system and sunroof and they only came in red or black
paint. The engine was untouched from the upgrade but it was nice to have
the m42 motor which has the chip for the dme. Most of these cars were sold
before they hit the states and gave BMW an idea of what to offer for the
next few years.
Subsequent sport models came with the same features with the exception of
the M-tech mirrors. Does it make the car more valuable?? That is up to the
owner at this short date but it would be nice to go to an O-fest 20 years
from now and say that you have an original when most of the others will
have been wrecked by then.
