Yes, it can be done.
We put E36 M3 (coupe) seats to my friend's E30 M3. Since e30 M3 has the same
attachment points for the seats as the rest of the e30 line, it is fair to
assume that this would apply to other e30 cars as well.
He had to make custom metal brackets though. (Did not look too difficult of
a job if you have a good metal saw, welding machine, grinder and a can of
black spray paint.
BTW, these were black leather seats put inside of his silver e30 M3 - looked
* spectacular *.
(paid only $1100 including shipping for a set of almost new seats)
