2002tii hates the cold

Can anybody suggest what I can do about a 73 tii that refuses to start when
the temperature falls below freezing? The engine turns over, but will not
fire. It only happens in the morning after the car sits all night. When its
warmer this doesn't happen at all and the car runs fine. Any ideas of what
to check for would be appreciated.
