Michiel and Bob,

On my 735i the same things happened to me. Even after replacing the NiCad's
the LED's were acting strange. It turns out that there is a board ( called
a conductor board) which routes signals around the back of the cluster. The
traces on this board will have opens which cause this problem.

I replaced this board and no problems since (2 years now).

I don't know if the 3's have the same set up.
