Sport Seat Parts e28/e24 - question

Sloppy seat backs seem to be a trademark of high mileage BMWs. The passenger
seat rattles badly when empty but is silent when occupied. There seems to
be two components involved: the actual hinge mechanism and the housing that
holds the drive motor. The fiche is not very helpful but it looks like the
hinge unit is universal and can be used with either the motor or the manual
adjuster. Is this true? Q2 - Is the slop in the hinge mech. (aka spring
frame seat right 52 10 1 945 553)?
Thanks,
Colin McMillan
