Greetings BMW digesters!
I have just gotten my hands on a BMW "work car". It is an 85 318i that
got kissed on the passenger's 1/4. The PO didn't fix it so the price was
right. This is my 3rd BMW in my history and I am torn between fixing it
or parting it out.
The first question is: Does anyone have any spare parts for the model? I
am looking for a windshield washer tank and motor. The PO removed it.
Second question is: which way does the arm to hold the hood open go? The
PO removed it for whatever reason. The way I have it attached it does
not seem correct. I have a Bentley manual for it but don't see any
diagram or photo to give me a clue.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Next an opinion.
I have been around the net for a long time. I have seen flame wars and
people posture and things get ugly. I am on a lot of mail lists,
including the Alfa one Richard spoke about. I rareyl post and often just
get the knowledge transfer by listening.
The net is a wide open place where people seem to think because they are
not ther ein person they can say whatever and it has no impact or
reaction toward them. Not true, but often held as such.
I used the topics listed at the top of the digest, I skip things I am
not interested in or just don't care about. I have no idea who said what
or what flames went where. I missed them all with my skimming the
topics.
If Richard closes the digest and we move somewhere else this will happen
again and again. Why? not sure, but I have seen it often enough. *shrug*
just life on the net I guess.
Richard thanks for all the good work on this and the other 2 of your
digests I subscribe to. I have managed lists, I know the pain.
To the rest of the digesters, we are a small neighborhood, we are good
and bad and have better days a worse days. I hope we end the fued and
move on to better days.
This is a great place to learn and express opinions.
Thanks for reading this far.
