Clutch Tool-E39/E46 Cars

The new E46 and E39 (6spd) cars come with a self adjusting clutch that
requires special tools for the R&R (eg, to adjust the tension on the
pressure plate).  I've heard of dealers quoting $1500+ for the job (parts
and labor....mostly labor) for the clutch replacement on these cars.
Independent mechanics and tuners should make sure they have the tools
before undertaking one of these clutch jobs.  SD  (PS- Many independents
are not aware of the special tools...Little Garage in NYC just found out
about the rear subframe bushing tool after pulling the subframe to do these
jobs for the past 15 years)
