I see Paul K. has answered part of your question on the '88 - '90 735i 5
speeds. Here is the breakdown by year of these cars imported to the
US.
1988...............................................275
1989.................................................33
1990...............................................104
Most of us on this and the 7 series digest have the 88 5 speeds. Paul Chang
(who provided these numbers to me....thanks again, Paul) has a 1990. His is the
only 1990 I've heard referred to on these digests. I don't know of anyone who
has a 1989.
I've pretty much confirmed that there are a 'HANDFUL' of 1992 735i 5 speeds
here in the states but I have yet to find one. If anyone reading this knows the
whereabouts of one of these please let me know. These are great cars. If you
can find one in decent shape, by all means grab it.
