Jay wants a Bay Area local source for brake pads and fluid...
Jay,
I remember asking for the same information about half a year ago. I saved
and compiled all of the answers. Here you go:
- - Dinan in Mountain View www.dinanbmw.com I know they can put SB in your
car, but don't know if they'll simply sell it to you.
- - Frey Racing in Mountain View www.freyracing.com doesn't carry SB,
carries Motul instead.
- - Gottelli (sp?) Speed Shop in S.S.F. (650) 589-8616 no SB, carries some
type of silicone-based DOT 5 fluid instead. I think you want to stay
away from this.
- - German Auto Salvage in Berkeley (510)525-6000 carries SB.
- - New Dimensions, a VW shop, in Santa Clara carries SB.
- - Wolf Sport in Berkeley www.wolfsport.com 510.525.0157 may carry SB.
- - Roger Kraus racing in Castro Valley (510-582-5031)
- - I/O Port Racing Supplies in Lafayette (800-949-5712)
- - JAM'n Motorsports in Campbell (408-378-8879)
- - Double 02 Salvage in Hayward (510)782-2002 has SB.
- - A&E in Campbell (408)866-0606.
- - Automotion www.automotion.com, P-car aftermarket store in Sunnyvale
carries SB.
BTW, I think Eurasian (ad in Roundel) has the best price on SB, if you buy
3 liters or more. I ordered 4 liters (2 blue and 2 orange).
I haven't needed a set of pads yet, but when I do, I'll probably go with
Performance Friction Z-rated from www.hms-motorsport.com at $115.28/107.30
(front/rear last time checked), unless I find some other source or get
different advice.
