Thanks to all who offered advice on the swaybar install. Put them in
today, took about 3.5 hours, with a in-between run to get a socket i
didn't have (aside: why do i have 2 17mm and 2 19mm but no 18mm
socket?). Front bar was simple remove and install deal. Rrear was a bit
more of a pain. I ended up dropping the exhaust which made it a whole
lot easier. Would have been just an in and out like the front, except
for the self leveling suspension stuff. The sensor attatches to the
swaybar with a U bolt type thing, as the rear goes down, the bar twists
and moves the linkage to the sensor. If i would have carefully noted the
orientation of this linkage, it would have saved some time. I also had
to go to the hardware store for a slightly larger diameter U bolt to fit
the bigger bar. First try with the car re-assembled ended up with a dtm
rear end about 1.75 inches lower than the before (with dinan springs),
apperently the self leveling suspension can lower the car? An adjustment
got it approximately where it was before, maybe a touch lowe, which is
fine. Funny, when I ordered the bars from dinan, i specifically asked if
anything was diferent with self level-rear, they said, "well i don't
think so", i'll let them know tomorrow. They can stamp a u bolt with
DINAN and include it in the kit!
thanks again,
mike
