UPS driver signs for and computer scans in his pickups.  They know if they
have it in their system the minute they pick it up.

UPS is correct.  If they have no scan log of it, its not their problem.
2002ad should have a receipt of the pickup from the UPS driver if they
indeed did ship it. Sounds like 2002ad does not know their left hand from
their right. Do your chargeback on the AM EX...you'll have to write a
letter but they'll back you up.

Sure.  UPS is one of the largest, if not the single largest, East-West
Railcar shipper. All that ground freight gets loaded into boxcars to travel
accross the Rockies, hence the 5 to 7 day travel time.  The minimum air
service level UPS has is 3-Day Select which is quite reasonable until you
get into large packages or heavy weights.  Most U.S. Mail travels by air,
with Parcel Post going as 'space available'.
