E36 Hood release cable popped off

While trying to get the hood to latch by working the release lever back
and forth, the cable popped off.  I got the hood to latch, but now can't
get it to unlatch.  I can get the right latch to release by pulling on
the cable between the latches, but not the left.  Anyone know the trick
to this?

How about a reccommendation on where to take it in the DFW metro area?
