I agree with Curt.  Check the trunk actuator area, wiring etc.  Today I had
my trunk lock actuator harness _unplugged_ while I was testing the wires
for current. The door lock mech would frequently go from lock to unlock
while turning the key towards the right... all by itself.  It has never
doone this before until today while I was installing the remote lock kit!
I had my son ( 4 years old) helping me by turning the key to lock the door
while I was on the test light and thought he was turning the key back to
unlock after lock.  I was blaming him! 

FWIW this was on my e34 535i but I would suspect something loose back there.
