Is there an E30 aux fan substitute?

I am in need of a new auxilliary fan for my E30 and remember seeing
something about a fan made by CAC(?) that can be adapted to fit the E30
non-M3. I would like to adapt a less expensive and possibly more
reliable fan, perhaps by a US manufacturer. I have checked all the FAQs
I can get to but there is no info on this.

Has anyone been successful in this? Any leads?
