Micheal,

I own a 98 ///M3/4 (in Hawaii).  No problems with the transmission.  Of
course, I don't have any good data on cold starts.  Still running standard
BMW transmission fluid.  Standard recommendation (from the BMW digest and
Roundel) is to switch to Redline at the first sign of a transmission
problem.
