re: E30 in snow

Darren,
I also live in the Portland area; I have an extra set
of rims that I picked up at a local wrecking yard and
had studded snow tires put on. So when it snows here
~2weeks worth a year, put them on and throw other rims/
tires in the trunk for the extra weight. That seems to 
to the trick. Next year I might take the other two rims
I have and put snows on for the front. My Bridgestone
Potenza RE-71's don't do well in the cold.
