<E36>M3 Winter tires/wheels

Hey guys,

Are anyone of you guys running 16 inch wheels with snow tires
on your E36 M3?

If yes, what are your experiences with them?  I'm not sure if
I want to spend an extra $300 to get a 17 inch wheels combo
instead.
