<02>tii clock repair

Hello Everyone,

I am currently attempting a little project...repairing a spare tii clock I
have out of a '72tii (same as my '73tii clock). I have read what I believe is
available on the subject...archives, Tii Register newsletters, '02 Restoration
Guide (by Mike Macartney)...all good sources, BUT it's not as easy as some
"descriptions" make it sound.

Does anyone have a "visual" guide to repairing one of these little
gems?...great mechanism! I believe an "exploded" view/sketch of where all the
wires connect and how the rubber gromments and metal washers fit on the case
(inside and outside) would be most useful for anyone like me that "forgets"
how to put things back together<g>. Getting the front aluminum bezel off with
plexiglass cover is not so easy to do either...no descriptions in any of the
FAQ's on this little trick either.

Also, what are the little "disks" that are suppose to be the culprit of most
problems with these clocks?...they may need to be soldered together per the
descriptive instructions...again a sketch or picture would be very helpful
here in explaining to the novice how to attempt a repair.

I will gladly compile a very through narrative and sketch/photos based on the
responses I receive, so this question doesn't have to be asked again...it
seems simple but I assure you it isn't or there wouldn't be the amount of
questions in past archives, etc. on this subject. And yes, the '74tii clocks
"are" slightly different...different plastic bezel and the face markings are
slightly different.

Any input is very much appreciated. I am only interested in hearing from
those of you that like "originality" and have experience with these clocks, so
please no free advice like "replace the clock with a quartz VDO clock".

Thanks in advance and Happy ///Motoring,
