<E-28> 5-speed transmission question. (Getrag 260 vs. 265)

Hi all,

Does any one has experience with replacing 5 - speed Getrag 260 with
Getrag 265?  My part supplier send me 265 instead of 260.  This transmission
is in a good condition.  It is from 1985 535i with 100,000 miles on it. My
533i 1984 has Getrag 260 which is about 100 mm shorter than Getrag 265.  It
looks like 265 should bolt on my engine, mounts should also fit, so the only
problem is my drive shaft is too long for 265. Can I install shorter
driveshaft, or cut off my old one? Any other ideas?  

Any suggestions are welcome.
