Tom asked about buying a used 850ci.    I bought my 633 from a guy who took
on it on trade against his 850.   He said that it nickel and dimed him to
death.   He dropped a quarter in the seat and it shorted something out and
cost $750 to fix; apparently these cars have on the order of 150 electric
motors running things like seats, headlights, and other standard BMW
frills.

We all know how expensive parts can be; I imagine that parts unique to the
8 series are even worse (as they have been on the 6 car for me) as well as
the rarity of the car making after-market parts difficult to get.
