87' 325is Blown ABS relay?

Some time ago I had to jump start my car. Well apparently ever since 
that day my ABS light has been on. Now I've done some research and found 
out that the problem could be a silver relay that is clipped on the left 
side of the steering rod.

Here's the problem. How do I test this relay? Please just dont tell me 
to use a DMM. Explain how.

Need layman explanation on how to do this. 

This is what is written on the relay: 1 154 894.2
                                      12V 8A 4/87

There is also a schematic on the relay with the following values:86, 
30a, 31, 31b, 30
