Update: Helmets
Just to update everyone. I followed Dean Schindell's advice and e-mailed the Snell
Memorial Foundation. This was their response:
>Dear Mr. Sanchez,
>
>SA helmet performance requirements are designed around the needs of drivers
>in high perfomance automotive competitions. SA helmets are required to meet
>requirements for flame retardancy and have allowances for restricted visual
>fields that are desirable in some types of events. M helmets, while
>usually associated with motorcycling, are quite suitable for many types of
>motorsports. SA helmets may not be "street legal" if they are designed
>with the visual field restrictions. M helmets must meet these street
>requirements. An M helmet would most likely serve you well in both
>activities, however you should check in your rule book to see what is
>required for the type of competitions you participating in.
