[E36] Trunk-Mounted CD Changer

The CD changer in my 2-door '95 M3 is mounted on the underside of the 
rear deck, on the right side of the car.  It does a good job of reducing 
the width of the trunk opening.

Recently I was in the dealership, looking at the M3 convertible, and I 
noticed that the trunk-mounted CD changer is located on the left side of 
the trunk, just in front of the tail light, inside of a fold-down 
compartment.

Do the newer M3s also have the CD changer mounted in this position, or 
is it just for the convertible?  If it's only installed in the 
convertible, does anyone know if this fold-down mount can be installed 
in the E36 Coupe?
