Re: Where is the BMW innovation for us in the $30k sport car market?



Grant poses a question which I fear that BMW are going to ignore.

The wonderful E30-M3 was only made to comply with homologation requirements.
There is no reason for BMW to make the same thing again, at that sort of
price.

So the newer high performance cars from BMW are also luxury cars, and are
missing the raw excitement that the E30-M3 served up.

I would love to see the new M3 appear as a lightweight version without
zillions of electric motors, heavy leather seats and sun roof. With anti
surge baffles in the sump, multi point harness, and less compromising
suspension. But BMW don't need to do this, so I guess they won't.
