Disc Error message

I've just encountered my third "disc error" fault message on my head
unit in nine months. The first two were supposedly corrected when the
dealer replaced the cd player under warranty, but i'm out of warranty
now. I've checked the FAQ's for naught...can anyone offer some ideas?
