Both of the organizations I know that rent BMW Club Racing cars, Massari-
Muller and t.c.kline, also rent cars for driver schools. The rates for
schools are less than those for races, but you get the same cars.
Both have a lengthy contract. I've read end-to-end a Massari-Muller contract
(I rented a 328is for 2 races last year) and it is long and complicated.
The summary: you break it you bought it.
You are completely liable for any damages to the cars, whether or not
it's your fault or someone else's. I did a small amount of damage to the
car at the Lime Rock race and had to pay something like $400 to get it
fixed. Another driver nearly (or maybe completely) totalled his E30 M3,
and he had to pay a lot of $$.
They also have a very large deposit, I can't remember if it was $3000 or
$4000. Your damage fees come out of that.
Renting a car is fun, but you really don't drive it as hard as your own
car because you know how expensive it's going to get if you have a mishap.
